The QuickSCID-5 (Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-5 Disorders) is considered the “gold standard” structured psychiatric diagnostic interview for the main diagnoses of the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition)
This screening is conducted by a physician or trained mental health professional who is familiar with the DSM-5 classification and diagnostic criteria. Interview subjects can include both psychiatric and general medical patients, as well as individuals who do not consider themselves patients, such as participants in a community survey on mental illness or family members of psychiatric patients.
Interview structure
The QuickSCID-5 has a modular structure that allows for the use of only those modules of diagnostic interest.
Given the fact that it is not recommended to diagnose a psychotic disorder such as schizophrenia using questions that can only be answered with "YES" or "NO" response, the QuickSCID-5 is intended only for screening for psychotic symptoms and is not intended to diagnose psychotic disorders. These diagnoses are not included in the QuickSCID-5.
The questionnaire is filled out exclusively by a specialist, in the presence of the client in the form of an interview. The specialist reads out the questions of the clinical interview and marks the client's answer in the system.
In our clinic, mental health screening with the QuickSCID-5 is provided both offline and online. The service also includes a short interview with a psychiatrist.
