How does it work?

1

Electric pulses
directly affect the targeted areas of brain with the help of alternating magnetic fields

2

This triggers
changes in neuronal activity

3

As a result
you feel better due to a measurable therapeutic effect
The use of Mag VENTURE systems around the globe
Transcranial magnetic stimulation is carried out with the help of a system approved as a medical device in Europe, the USA, Canada, China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Brazil and other countries.
What happens during transcranial magnetic stimulation?

Short electrical pulses affect the targeted areas of the brain. The procedure is painless and non-invasive and lasts 40 minutes on average.

As a side effect, a patient can feel slight discomfort during the session caused by electrical pulses.

During the procedure, patients feel calm. Other sensations include relaxation in the muscles, warmth in the fingers and abdomen.

about magnetic stimulation and its effectiveness
An alternative method test
During the last 20 years, the IFCN (International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology) Consensus Group has checked the safety of TMS and issued guidelines for its application. This indicates a high level of recognition, safety, effectiveness, and research. It has also been proven that the method is safe for elderly people.
Extensive research
MagVenture TMS Therapy was used for the largest in the world randomized clinical trial of TMS. A standard 37-minute TMS protocol was compared to a newly-introduced 3-minute session Theta Burst. The research has shown that Theta Burst is as safe and effective for major depressive disorder treatment as standard TMS.
MagVenture equipment
In 2018, MagVenture received an FDA clearance for a 3-minute protocol marketed under the brand name Express TMS®. MagVenture is also FDA cleared for a standard 37-minute protocol and a 19-minute protocol. MagVenture has extensive experience in neuroscience, providing TMS solutions since 1992.
Safety standards
All products are designed and manufactured in accordance with ISO 13485:2016, the current EU Medical Device Directive, Canadian Medical Device Regulation (CMDR), US 21 CFR 820 for the USA, and a number of additional country-specific regulations.
About MagVenture

1

1992
MagVenture released its first TMS device (under the name Dantec). One of the first devices was sold to The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC).

2

2009
In collaboration with Dr. Mark George, MUSC, MagVenture developed a therapy research system for a large VA double-blind randomized clinical trial. This system has since evolved into today’s MagVenture TMS Therapy® system.

3

2010
MagVenture sold its first MRI solution in the USA, which allowed neuroscience researchers at Stanford University to study human brain functional connectivity by using TMS simultaneously with the actual MRI scanning. After that, several more MRI installations followed across the country.

4

2013
MagVenture provided TMS equipment support for an industry-independent, randomized controlled study, the so-called THREE-D trial in Canada run by three Canadian university hospitals. As of today, with 414 patients, the THREE-D trial is the largest TMS study ever to take place. The study compares the effectiveness of two different protocols: the standard 37-minute rTMS protocol to the shorter 3-minute Theta Burst (TBS) protocol.

5

2015
MagVenture Inc. received its first FDA clearance for the treatment of major depressive disorder for the 37-minute protocol.

6

2017
MagVenture obtained an FDA clearance for a shortened depression treatment protocol, bringing the duration of a session down from 37 to 19 minutes.

7

2017
The MagPro R20 stimulator received an FDA clearance for the treatment of major depressive disorder. The R20 became popular around the globe.

8

2018
MagVenture was first to obtain an FDA clearance for 3-minute TBS depression treatment. This TBS (Theta burst stimulation) protocol is based on the world’s largest TMS randomized control trial.

9

2020
The total number of installations at research institutions across the US surpassed 500. MagVenture received an FDA clearance for supportive treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in adult patients.

What does the treatment look like?

The treatment consists of a series of painless, non-invasive procedures. Read more here, here, and here.

No. We work according to the principles of evidence-based medicine. We use only those methods that have undergone pharmacoepidemiological research and are recognized by world-class professionals.

We treat various disorders of the central and peripheral nervous systems, including dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. You can find the full list of diseases in the descriptions of the methods.

The procedures do not require any preparation: you can eat, drink, and do your usual things, like every day.

You can read about it here, here, and here. This is a non-invasive, painless procedure that does not require preparation and does not interfere with your usual daily life.

Some patients notice slight headaches that can be treated with your usual pain relievers. You can experience minor redness and itching at the site where the device has been contacting your skin.

You can proceed with your usual life right after the procedure.

    1. You consult our doctor on your problem.
    2. We check you for contraindications.
    3. You undergo special tests to evaluate your condition before the treatment.
    4. The doctor creates an individual treatment plan for you.
    5. Once you have undergone half of the procedures, we do another test to evaluate the progress.
    6. You proceed with the procedures.
    7. We perform the third, final test to evaluate the overall progress.

The treatment typically lasts around several weeks.

In different cases, different procedures may be applied.

A treatment course may include from 6 to 30 sessions.

The procedures are performed almost every day.

At the end of the treatment course you can achieve full recovery or remarkable improvement.

To be able to measure your progress, you will undergo pre-treatment, mid-treatment, and post-treatment tests.

In case the mid-treatment test reveals that the treatment does not bring results, you can stop it.

The cost of treatment depends on your disease, treatment method, and number of sessions needed.
